The thing about Tina is...she loves life! I've never seen Tina without a smile and a laugh. Her sense of humor is infectious! Tina makes everything fun...even hard things.
The thing about Tina is...she works hard and makes it look so easy! Her work as a teacher and librarian is a joy for her. Small children running about, with their curiosity and fits of delight, make her eyes sparkle.
The thing about Tina is...she is selfless! Tina loves others and she loves others enough to go the extra mile to show it. Her organization of countless baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties and game nights show her tireless effort to make others happy. She doesn't mind if her house is overflowing with teenagers or food or gift-wrapping papers. She just brushes that off with laughter.
The thing about Tina is...her sweet spirit! Tina's ability to overlook the faults of others is precious. In her eyes, everyone is the same. She gives everyone the chance to prove and re-prove themselves..and she is there cheering them on.
The thing about Tina is....she loves her husband! Last fall, Tina excitedly told me about a couple trips she and Chet were taking for their anniversary. Her animation and joy were evident when she clapped her hands together and did a little jump in the air. She loves Chet and always encourages him. She says, "The love of my life is still the love of my life."
The thing about Tina is.....she adores her children! Jason and Heather are the light in Tina's eyes. She is always making time to do things with her children. She wants them to succeed, but not just in the work they do. She wants them to enjoy life and live for the Lord.
The thing about Tina is...she loves Jesus! Tina could not be who she is without Jesus as the center of her life. All of her actions of love towards others are guided by her love for Christ. She loves her church and her Sunday School Class and has spoken to me numerous times about her love of Christian music.. Tina loves Jesus and she's not afraid for others to know it.
The thing about Tina is....she's my friend! And Tina isn't just any friend... she's a forever-friend. Small things don't bog her down. No way. She's there for her friends anytime, anywhere. And I say that's extra-special.. When I think of Tina, I automatically think, "Friend."
Thank you for being you, Tina! I love you friend.

This was written by my pastor's wife when Tina was at her most difficult moments battling cancer. She passed a day later (Aug 8th, 2012). She was much too young, loving and wonderful to leave us. But she is with the Father now. She will be a part of me and our children forever
Great poem. Like I told Amy, if the goal in life is to leave the world a better place than you found it, Tina succeeded!
