As we enter the season of Thanksgiving. We should consider a new meaning behind Thanksgiving. The Bible teaches that to be thankful to God we must give a sacrifice. Cain and Abel were called to provide such a thankful sacrifice. Today, we are called to sacrifice in a different way. Hebrews 13:15-16 says, "15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." If we do this, we are also obeying what Jesus referred to as the greatest commandment, to love one another.
