Phone Calls and Letters

I was sitting in my hotel room tonight (while traveling for business) and the most wonderful thing happened. My wife called me. Usually when I travel, I call home most every night and just hope I called before everyone had gone to bed. This time was different, she called me. Nothing urgent or anything like that. But have you ever heard a smile? I did, and it warmed my heart. We didn't even really talk about anything real or for very long, but it was one of the better phone calls I've ever had. My wife is the same way about letters and cards. She enjoys a phone call, email or Facebook post...but she loves a hand written letter or card. That takes effort and shows love. And it is the same reason I enjoyed her call tonight. It took effort and showed love. Have you called or written a loved one recently?
